The Jets and Philadelphia Eagles didn’t look great on offense last week and it might not be any prettier on Thursday against the NFL odds when betting online. This could be a low scoring competition and the NFL gambling odds total is low since neither team’s first string is supposed to play long.
Since it’s a competition of backups for both squads, NFL odds in online sports wagering in the final week of the preseason are tricky to forecast. Neither team did much last week on offense but it’s improbable the head coaches will risk their first team starters for more than a series or two on Thursday evening.
Jets Offense has been Poor – In the preseason the Jets have shown no real clues that they’re a Super Bowl team, particularly on offense, despite the fact that the Jets could be 1 of the Super Bowl faves at the online sports books. Quarterback Mark Sanchez has looked more like a rookie than a 2nd year quarterback and in total, the Jets aren’t moving the ball. Last week the team fumbled it four times and lost 3 of them. In the loss to Washington, Sanchez also threw an interception. New York had eight drives last week that went for 5 plays or less. Going into the regular season, that is cause for significant concern.
Eagles Offense is Not much Better – The Eagles first string offense was not pretty great last week either and they genuinely have to pick things up considering they are going to have to score points in their year opener if they expect to keep up with the high-powered offense of the Green Bay Packers. As quarterback Kevin Kolb did nothing, the Eagles did not look pretty great last week. The Eagles are pretty concerned about their offensive line. Jason Peters is 1 of the most overpaid offensive linemen in the league, Center Jamaal Jackson has a bad knee and Stacy Andrews is inconsistent.
The Under Seems Alluring: Both squads have reliable defenses even with the backups, though the total on this competition is low. Neither team has in fact proven much on offense. That most likely will not change on Thursday evening with the starters receiving limited time. Under the total in NFL betting odds may be the way to go in this match.
